Two cottages, one hill, no reception desk.
We answer the phone ourselves and we'd rather you booked here than through a platform. It costs you less and we get to know who's coming.
Fig Cottage
One bedroom, a deep verandah, the fig tree it's named after. Two people, a dog if it's well behaved.

Two bedrooms end to end, a kitchen that works, a table for six. Families, and people who cook on holiday.

Fig Cottage
Built in 1974 as a farm office and left mostly alone since. Lime plaster, one long window, a bed positioned so the valley is the first thing you see. There is no television and the wifi reaches the verandah but not the garden. That is on purpose.

What there is to do, honestly
Not a great deal, which is the reason most people come. Here is what we'd actually suggest, in the order we'd suggest it.
The ridge walk
Out of the gate, left, ninety minutes up and back. Best before eight.
Breakfast, if you'd like it
Poha or eggs, brought over at eight thirty. Tell us the night before.
The lake road
Twenty minutes by car. Empty on weekdays, less so on Sundays.
Dinner at the house
Sunita cooks Maharashtrian, one menu, no choices. It is very good.
